Where to Buy Used Hunting Clothes

Are you on a budget but need some camo hunting clothes essentials for the season? There are several places where you’re going to have a high success rate finding used hunting clothes to buy.

A Friend

Got any hunting buddies and friends who have gained or lost weight recently? Offer to buy their quality hunting clothes. This is a win/win for both of you because it means they can buy some new clothes and you can get some nice used hunting clothes for much less than what you would pay for new.

Goodwill

My next recommendation is Goodwill. Don’t be afraid of shopping at the local Goodwill stores. There are usually a lot of clothes to go through, but you can ask anyone working in the store if they have any camo and they’ll usually be happy to help you by telling you where you can find it. The thing about Goodwill is that you might have to look through a lot of clothes to find the good stuff, but there is almost always some good stuff to be found.

Thrift Store

Thrift stores is another place where you can sometimes find good deals on used camo hunting clothes. Most cities and towns have at least one good thrift store where you can find clothes that were either donated or sold to the thrift store. You can also sometimes get the owner to call you when they get new stock (and by new I mean new-to-them used hunting clothes). This means you don’t have to stop in every few days hoping to come across something you missed. Since camo hunting clothes are a specialty item, most stores aren’t going to have loads of it year round, but you just never know when a batch is going to show up.

Online

Craigslist is a good resource, along with ebay. I prefer craigslist over ebay though, and suggest if you use ebay you try to find someone local to buy from.

Those are my suggestions for finding used hunting camo.

Buying used hunting clothes is an especially good option if you’re looking for youth hunting camo because youth tend to outgrow their clothes well before the clothes are worn out or too faded from washing to be effective as camouflage.

Where to Get Quality Camouflage Clothing

The best places online for picking up good pieces of camo are the stores in this list.

You can even pick up some decent pieces at Wal-Mart occasionally, but it’s not my favorite. They’re good about keeping a few pieces of camouflage clothing like jackets, coats, gloves, and coveralls in stock though, so if you need something in a hurry, they’re good in a pinch.

As for brick and mortar stores, I like going to Big Daddy’s, Bass Pro, and Sportsman’s Warehouse when I need to see stuff before I buy it, but most of these places have good return policies, so I don’t worry about it much.

Used Camo Hunting Clothes

Yes, you can get great deals on used camo clothes. I swear I’m not off my rocker on this. Good quality camo makes sense and a good place to get it if you’re a little short on cash is to pick it up used, especially if you’re buying the camo for fast growing juvenile hunters.

Buying used clothes is the best way to get your camo cheap. Especially with children, used camo is a great option. They grow out of their hunting clothes so fast that it can get very expensive to keep them properly dressed for hunting. Look for deals at yard sales, garage sales, estate sales, auctions, consignment shops, children’s used clothing stores, thrift stores, and even on ebay.

I tend to get most of my hunting clothes at Bass Pro because they have good customer service and I like how easy they make it to return stuff if it doesn’t work. They also sell many of the brands I use, even if they don’t have all of them.
